Nago R4 PAS 3DMSS
  • Sizes: 245x137mm
  • Weight of the saddle with neck rail: 148gr

Description
After launching the first saddles with CPC technology in 2013, the patented system with three-dimensional conical nanostructures that increase grip and vibration absorption, we decided to extend 3D technology to the entire saddle to produce a new, ultra-light model with an innovative multi-sector cover developed on the basis of pressure test analyses.

The NAGO R4 PAS 3DMSS has the same ergonomic T-shape and compact dimensions (245x137 mm) as the NAGO R4, the new multidisciplinary saddle already used by several professionals such as Tadej Pogačar, Mark Cavendish, Geraint Thomas, Pello Bilbao and Alberto Bettiol.

DEVELOPED FROM THE ANALYSIS OF PRESSURE TESTS

The NAGO R4 PAS 3DMSS was born from the study of the Pressure Map MyOwn tests, Prologo's proprietary system that allows a scientific analysis of the pressure areas exerted on the saddle by different professional and amateur riders.

The data collected has made it possible to design and develop an extremely lightweight 3D saddle, with a cover made up of different sectors that best adapt to the different pressure areas, ensuring maximum support and comfort in all phases of pedaling.

3DMSS, THE TECHNOLOGY OF THE MULTISECTOR SYSTEM BECOMES 3D

The cover of the new NAGO R4 PAS 3DMSS combines MSS (Multi Sector System) technology with an innovative 3D printing process that makes it possible to create five separate sectors for each side of the saddle, which can adapt optimally to the individual pressure areas and take into account the morphology of the cyclist.

Each sector has different complex geometric shapes, different densities and differentiated elastic coefficients, depending on position and function:

The rear section has a high density and a high elastic coefficient to better support the ischial bones and facilitate the traction phase when pedaling;
the 3 middle sections have a low density and a medium elasticity coefficient to provide maximum comfort where the soft tissues rest;
the front section has a medium density and a low elasticity coefficient to provide good support even when it is necessary to pedal at the top of the saddle.

COMFORT AND PERFORMANCE AT A RECORD WEIGHT FOR A 3D SADDLE

Part of our development work also focused on improving a typical weak point of 3D saddles, namely their weight, which is known to be higher than that of conventional saddles.

Using the data from the Pressure Map MyOwn tests, areas of the saddle where the pressure exerted was lower were identified. The covers in these areas were made with specific 3D geometric shapes to limit the amount of material used without compromising comfort or limiting the performance of the saddle.

The injected long fiber carbon base and the Nack (Nano Carbon Fiber) rail help to further reduce the overall weight while ensuring maximum stiffness.

The result? The weight of the new NAGO R4 PAS 3DMSS is only 149 grams. The absolute lowest weight compared to all 3D models currently on the market.
