Rebellious, unconventional and groundbreaking are words that describe the unique SES 4.5 AR Disc. The SES 4.5 AR Disc was designed for the cobbles of Paris-Roubaix through our partnership with Team Dimension Data. The SES 4.5 AR Disc was developed to provide aero performance, stability and comfort for virtually any road surface. The SES 4.5 AR Disc is available as a tubeless clincher and tubular model rim. The SES 4.5 AR Disc is based on the tubeless carbon mountain bike technology of the ENVE M series and features hookless beads. Hookless beads improve aerodynamic performance by promoting airflow from the tire to the rim and allow for the best possible performance of tubeless tires. Like all aero wheels in the Smart ENVE system, the front and rear rims are specifically designed for airflow at the front and rear of the bike. Therefore, the front rim is flatter and wider to maximize stability and the rear rim is deeper and narrower to reduce drag. In addition to the different geometries, the SES 4.5 AR Disc features a disc brake-specific design that saves weight, improves strength and creates unparalleled ride quality.

The SES AR wheelsets feature a straight sidewall/hookless bead construction and are suitable for use with "Tubeless, Tubeless Ready (TLR)" tires with a width of 28c or larger ONLY. You can safely ride with tubular tires as long as the tire itself has a tubeless or tubeless ready construction. The aerodynamics and stability of SES AR are optimized when the wheelset is paired with a 30mm wide tire. Below is a list of approved/recommended tires as well as tires that have been found to be incompatible and cannot be recommended at this time.

For tires that are listed as "not approved/incompatible", we are working with the tire manufacturers so that changes can be made to move the tires to the "approved/recommended" list. If a tire you want to run is not listed, it does not mean it is incompatible. Rather, we have not yet tested it. If you choose to drive a tire that is not on the "Approved/Recommended" list, do so at your own risk. Please refer to our tire pressure recommendation chart for SES AR wheels (25mm internal width) and never exceed an air pressure of 80psi/5.5bar for 28c, and 67psi/4.6bar for 32c.

These tire sizes are compatible, but eliminate the aerodynamic advantage of the rim profile. If you intend to ride these tire sizes regularly, the G-Series G23 is better suited for these tires and applications. Please refer to the tire pressure table for recommendations and maximum tire pressures. The maximum tire pressures for tires in this size range are between 35-60psi/2.4-4.1bar.
