The ENVE Melee was developed with the future of road cycling in mind. The Melee's frame was designed to maximize the natural durability, stiffness and compliance of carbon fiber.
ENVE are specialists in their field and design and manufacture the products they want to ride themselves. The Melee follows this philosophy and brings the brand's rich experience with carbon to bear. ENVE particularly focused on the process of making carbon fiber to build the frame to take full advantage of the material.
With the demands of modern road cycling, the durability of the frame is crucial. By using continuous fibers throughout the frame, tapering the laminate, layering and aligning the fibers to increase zone-specific performance, and removing excess material to reduce weight, ENVE has been able to deliver the stiffness, impact resistance and compliance it needs where it's needed is. The melee is only available in the color 'Damascus'.
Using Real-World Fast Aero technologies, which are also used in the SES wheels, ENVE has precisely balanced the Melee to ensure efficient aerodynamics. The Melee has been extensively tested in the laboratory and on the road at 32 km/h and 48 km/h to offer outstanding performance and the best possible driving experience at realistic speeds.
Versatility is key and can be tailored to the terrain by choosing tire size. A tire size of 27-31mm is optimized for aero performance, but the Melee can be ridden with tires up to 35mm.
Engineered for precision and agility, the Melee is available in seven sizes, with five different fork travels depending on the frame size to provide the best handling and stability to suit the rider's size and geometry.
The fork is designed to be used with a T47 threaded bottom bracket for smooth operation, but is compatible with a range of options. When it comes to specifying the frameset, the Melee is compatible with Shimano mechanical derailleurs to ensure the best derailleur functionality, as well as being compatible with all wired, electric and wireless options and 1x or 2x configurations.
The integrated stem is designed to route hoses and cables between a 1.5" top bracket and a 1.125" steerer tube. Combining the Melee with the integrated ENVE Road stem and ENVE SES AR handlebar allows the cables, hoses and brake hoses to be routed unnoticed through the handlebars to the head tube for a clean finish and minimal wind disturbance.
The Melee has a special seat post with a windproof Kammtail design and ENVE's patented two-bolt saddle rail clamp. It is available in three lengths and with an offset of 0 or -20.
The Melee's components have been rigorously tested and guaranteed to perform in real-world conditions to reduce airflow and increase speed. With ENVE's impeccable carbon know-how, plus the 5-year warranty and damage protection that comes with your purchase, this incredible road bike is a worthy investment.
