Vectranв "ў is spun from the molten liquid polymer Vectra and further processed into a multi-fiber yarn. Both spider silk and Vectranв "ў have enormous tensile strength with minimal weight. Exactly the right properties to be used as a puncture protection insert in a Continental top tire. A Vectranв "ў breaker is lighter, more flexible and protects more effectively against cuts than comparable nylon breakers. The Vectranв "ў Breaker does not affect rolling resistance.
